The Master Plan
To avoid piecemeal development on the Broomfield Hospital Site, the Trust has developed a Master Plan. This document sets out a strategic framework for how the site should develop over the next 10-20 years.

The Local Planning Authority will refer to the Master Plan document as an urban design framework in the determination of all planning applications for development on the site.
All future planning applications for individual elements of the development will be subject to normal public consultation. Residents can expect to be notified when future applications are submitted.
The Master Plan sets out firm principles guiding the structure and design of development on the site, with flexibility to accommodate specific changing needs. Any minor variations to the document will be agreed by the Trust and submitted to Chelmsford Borough Council for approval.
