Project Director's Diary - November 2006

When I last updated my diary, I explained that work was underway to conclude the review process for our project.  I can confirm that as a result of this work a report was submitted by the Department of Heath to HM Treasury.

Unfortunately, I have to report that our project was not one of those chosen for approval in the round of announcements made in August 2006.  As such, we must wait until the autumn to hear if our project will be approved.

In the meantime, East of England Strategic Health Authority have requested that we review the assumptions we previously made regarding the future activity to be undertaken by the Trust.  These assumptions underpin the capacity which we intend to create by building the new hospital.  We have worked closely with our local Primary Care Trusts to undertake this work, which is now nearing completion.
